This just in from Showbread...
It is with sincere regret that we announce the cancellation of the MARCH N2 MADNESS tour that was to begin next month. Our drummer, Ricky Holbrook, has experienced a death in the family that has rendered it impossible for him to join us on the tour. We tried very hard to find a temporary drummer to fill his shoes for the tour, but finding even a temporary member that meets certain moral standards, has shared beliefs, is willing to travel for 6 weeks while making very little money and has a skill level on par with Ricky’s, is certainly no easy task. We had a few promising leads, but something always fell short whether it be financial or time restraints, we just couldn’t make it happen.
As we’ve mentioned elsewhere, we are going into the studio in April to record a new album and having this on the calendar also made planning more complicated.
In the end, we simply could not work it out to find a fill-in, rehearse the production and have it all ready to go in just a couple of weeks. Please believe us when we say we wanted very much to do the tour and tried very hard to make it happen. Showbread has never cancelled a tour and very rarely cancel even shows unless our engine blows up or someone dies.
We would like to sincerely apologize to all the fans of Showbread, The Fold, Deas Vail and White Collar Sideshow as well as the bands themselves, all the promoters, booking agents, our managers, labels and compassion international, all who contributed greatly to make this tour something special.
We hope that everyone can find understanding in his or her hearts for Ricky’s situation and our genuine effort to work around this tragedy. Hopefully, we can reinvent this tour in the future. Presently, we will continue with our studio plans, anticipate a release later this summer and hope to be back out on the road when the record is finished.
Again, from the bottom of our hearts, we are very sorry and will do our best to make it up to everyone.
Love,
Showbread
